Police are speaking to four teens who fled the scene of a crash on State Highway 1, north of Dunedin, this morning.
A police spokeswoman said police were called to the scene at 10.03am, where they found a single crashed car.
The occupants had left the scene, she said.
Police found the four occupants, who were all under 16, shortly afterwards.
The car belonged to one of their family members, the spokeswoman said.
