Cyclist hit by truck

Emergency services tend to a cyclist who was seriously injured after being hit by a truck on the corner of St Andrew and Castle Sts yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said the incident happened about 3.45pm.

Southbound traffic was diverted temporarily by police and Fire and Emergency New Zealand, the spokeswoman said. The person was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene before they were taken away about 4pm, she said.

A St John spokesman said the cyclist had serious injuries and was taken to Dunedin Hospital.
