Cyclist seriously hurt in High St

A cyclist has suffered serious injuries after a collision involving his bike and a car in Dunedin this morning.

Police say emergency services were called to the crash, on the corner of High St and William Street, at 7.30am.

St John spokesperson Gerard Campbell said the cyclist is seriously injured and has been taken to Dunedin Hospital by ambulance.

Fire and Emergency NZ said two crews from Dunedin and Lookout Point also attended.

Police remain at the scene and the Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
