"I wouldn't waste my time," was the response of a member of the public to an offer to provide information about the Dunedin City Council's annual plan consultation round.

"I'm tired of being ignored," the middle-aged woman told Cr Teresa Stevenson, before leaving Pak'n Save in South Dunedin with her shopping.

Hers was not the only response of the evening, of course, with council staff attending the long-term plan roadshow reporting a broad range of views and areas of interest at the small event in the supermarket entrance.

The council is asking for feedback on everything from the period in which to repay stadium debt to the items the council has left in, or removed from, its budgets, and staff and councillors are on hand at the roadshow events to answer questions and provide information.

Events are due to be held in Portobello, Waitati, Mosgiel, and Northeast Valley in the next few weeks, as the consultation period continues until April 17, before hearings in early May.

With the Otago Rugby Football Union's recent bail-out the talk of the town, Cr Stevenson said the stadium was still the most popular topic of concern for the public.

The South Dunedin library was another, possibly because the roadshow was in that area yesterday, she said.

"And some people are saying 'what's the point? - the council won't listen'."
