Historic Carisbrook will be the theme of this year's Otago Anniversary Day dinner, with broadcaster and sports commentator Iain Gallaway to entertain guests.
Convener Ann Barsby said organisers of the annual event thought the dinner, at the Carisbrook Otago Lounge, would be a "fitting farewell" to the old hallowed ground.
The event would be "a celebration more than a wake", recognising its heritage.
Guests will dine on a three-course buffet meal, with Mr Gallaway divulging some of the legends of the rugby ground.
The dinner will be held on March 23.
Tickets are available from the Otago Settlers Association, Otago Settlers Museum and the Scottish Shop, for $50.
