Dolphins 'dance' down Otago Harbour

A pod of dolphins is entertaining Dunedin locals by "dancing" through the Otago Harbour.
About four of the playful creatures were spotted swimming in the harbour last night and have been seen again today around Maia and Ravensbourne.

A reporter at the scene said they were swimming in a loop from Maia, up the harbour and back.

A witness said the commotion caused traffic trouble along the West Harbour as morning commuters today drove to and from lookout points to catch a glimpse.

It looked as though they were "dancing" as they leaped in the air, the witness said.

"It’s amazing."
