Footage filmed by Otago Regional Council staff in a helicopter on Saturday has revealed the extent of the flooding of the Taieri River.
They followed the river from Hindon to Outram.
More than 100 homes remain evacuated on the Taieri Plain following the massive deluge in eastern Otago on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
Residents from inundated areas spent the fifth night out of their homes on Tuesday.
