Fog hits flights at Dunedin, Queenstown

Fog is affecting flights at Dunedin Airport for the second day running today, and services are disrupted in Queenstown as well.

The Air New Zealand website showed flight NZ0671 arrived at Dunedin from Auckland more than an hour later than scheduled this morning, and flight NZ5743 from Christchurch was expected to arrive about 30 minutes late.

The late arrival of the flights means departures from Dunedin Airport will also be delayed.

Flight NZ0676 to Auckland is expected to depart 45 minutes later than scheduled; and flights NZ0682 to Wellington and NZ5746 to Christchurch will be 20 minutes later than scheduled.

All afternoon flights are expected to be on time at this stage.

This morning's disruptions come after flights to the city from Christchurch and Wellington were cancelled yesterday evening, also because of fog.

Queenstown Airport's website shows a number of services cancelled or delayed this morning.
