Footage examined

Security camera footage is being examined in a bid to identify an alleged offender after a complaint of improper conduct at the University of Otago central library last week.

Campus policeman Constable Max Holt said police were yet to receive an official complaint, after a woman notified library staff regarding the conduct of a man seated at a table opposite her. A university staff member, who did not wish to be named, said librarians contacted Campus Watch staff about 4pm on Sunday, January 15, after the woman alleged she was being filmed from under the table with a device.

Four security staff were unable to locate the man. Const Holt said a recording of security camera footage from the library included an image of the man allegedly involved.
