Good feedback on exhibition

Public feedback has been ''extremely positive'' about an interactive photographic exhibition at Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, involving 19th-century photographs of Princes St, Dunedin, museum director Jennifer Evans says.

The museum had updated photographs of buildings in Princes St, taken in 1864 by well-known Dunedin photographer Daniel Mundy, she said.

The update involved using photographs of the same buildings taken last year, 150 years later, by second-year students from the Otago Polytechnic's Dunedin School of Art.

The computerised interactive show lets visitors compare the modern streetscape with that of the 19th century.

Ms Evans said the museum was ''extremely grateful'' for funding from the Otago Settlers Association, which had helped make the interactive update available to visitors.
