The car, which was travelling south on the motorway near Lookout Pt, left the road, smashed through a large exit sign, a fence, and some trees, before rolling into a paddock early yesterday.
Southern fire communications shift manager Andrew Norris said firefighters arrived at the scene while they were ‘‘out for a drive''.
Police and ambulance assistance were requested, but the accident was ‘‘not too serious''. St John confirmed there were no serious injuries.
Sergeant Karl Hemmingsen said the driver had no injuries ‘‘other than his pride''.‘‘Speed would've been a factor'' in the accident, Sgt Hemmingsen said.
