A section of State Highway 1 at Waitati is still reduced to one lane, and controlled by temporary traffic lights, due to a washout.
In a statement on the New Zealand Transport Agency web site, road users were advised to "proceed with caution and to expect minor delays''.
The restriction started shortly after noon on Tuesday and was due to continue until 4pm on Monday.
After recent heavy rain and flooding in some places, this is one of more than 200 slips recorded in the greater Dunedin area in the past 10 days.
