A Dunedin City Council spokesman said it was pleased children were enjoying the refurbished playground.
The council had also received positive reviews on social media.
The refurbishment cost the council $320,000, allocated through the capital renewals budget as part of its nine-year plan and supplemented by a $60,000 grant from the Alexander McMillan Trust.
‘‘We’re grateful for the trust’s support and the great result we’ve been able to deliver for our community,’’ the spokesman said.
The playground includes a range of new play equipment including a three-bay swing set, a hammock, climbing structure and nature play elements.
