Fancy a week-long cruise around New Zealand with your family on a chartered super-yacht?

For just $336,000 per week — plus expenses — you too could be travelling in luxury around the South Pacific on the Teleost.

Or if you have a spare $US15 million ($NZ25.8m) or so, plus about $US2m a year to run it, you could buy something similar to the Teleost, which is in Dunedin.

The 49.1m superyacht is owned by former Microsoft chief technology officer and Intellectual Ventures founder Nathan Myhrvold — a former acquaintance of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Vanity Fair article alleged Epstein once visited Dr Myhrvold at Intellectual Ventures and brought young girls with him; however, Dr Myhrvold denied being involved in Epstein's criminal activities or ever having known about them.

So who knows what technology it has onboard the Teleost?

It was designed by De Voogt Naval Architects and built in the Netherlands in 1998, refitted in 2023 and has interiors by John Munford Design.

Charter cruise brochures for the vessel say it is geared towards families with a child-friendly set-up, offering accommodation for up to 10 guests and 10 crew.

At anchor, stabilisers provide exceptional comfort levels.

Onboard entertainment includes Wi-Fi, a bar, a deck jacuzzi, scuba diving equipment, a dive compressor and certified scuba diving professionals, a hyperbaric chamber, jetskis, waverunners, waterskis, a seabob, wakeboards, kayaks and two tenders.

It even has an inflatable water slide off the top deck which can send you into the sea at a high rate of knots.

With large Caterpillar engines, she has a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of more than 5100 nautical miles.

Teleost arrived at the T/U sheds on Dunedin’s waterfront at 9.45pm on Monday, from Lyttelton and will depart for Rakiura Stewart Island on Friday at 6pm.
