It was a night for celebrating strength, compassion and community while championing a cause.

It was also an evening for dancing, as the Professional Inspiring Networking Community (Pinc) put on its formal event — the Stand Up Ball.

Last night’s ball at Tūhura Otago Museum was hosted on the anti-bullying Pink Shirt Day, supporting the Mental Health Foundation.

Pinc Dunedin chairwoman Narelle Jakeway said the event reflected the power of local connection and collective generosity.

Three-hundred tickets were available for the inaugural event and they were snapped up quickly, she said.

Guests were welcomed to the museum on a pink carpet and the event included a charity auction.

It was sponsored by MTF Finance.

‘‘To see the Stand Up Ball sell out in its first year says everything about this community,’’ the firm’s acting chairman and Dunedin franchise holder Noel Johnston said.
