One person was transported to Dunedin Hospital in a moderate condition after a motorcycle collided with the back of a car yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said they were notified of the crash near the intersection of Cumberland and St Andrew Sts about 2.15pm.

A motorcycle had "gone into the back of a car", the spokeswoman said.

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said they responded with one ambulance.

It transported one patient, in a moderate condition, to Dunedin Hospital.

Emergency services were also called to Taieri Rd about 1pm yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said it appeared a driver had experienced a medical event and crashed into a power pole.

One lane was blocked briefly.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said they dispatched crews from Roslyn and Willowbank stations.

No-one was trapped.

The lines company was contacted, but was stood down, the spokesman said.

A St John spokesman said an ambulance transported one patient with moderate injuries to Dunedin Hospital.
