Today is the last day of school for about 18,000 Otago primary and intermediate pupils. For many, it is the last day  at their current school before they move on to intermediate or secondary school between January 29 (at the earliest) and February 7 (at the latest) next year. Anderson’s Bay School pupil Kaila-Belle Geeves (11) is one of those pupils and has written about her time  at primary school.

Hello, my name is Kaila-Belle.

I have had an amazing school time journey since I have been at Anderson’s Bay School.

At the time I got here I didn’t know what was going on.

It was so fun starting school but a little nervous as well, at least I had some new friends to help me along the way.

Getting older and older I get to know a lot more that I didn’t know before.I think to myself I need to be a role model to all the younger ones, so when they’re older they can be one as well.

It is scary moving on towards intermediate because it is another level that we don’t know much about, but at the same time I say in my head I am really excited about moving on.

I will really miss this school but I will always remember it here at Anderson’s Bay School.

Thanks to everybody that voted for me to get the Sir Peter Blake award.

One big last thank you to all of my teachers that have taught me throughout this journey.
