Pockets of Dunedin are without power, likely due to the strong winds that are hurtling through the city.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said crews were assisting with power lines which were down on Highcliff Rd, near Waverley.
Crews were waiting for Delta to arrive, he said.
There are reports of power outages in that area, Mosgiel and in Calton Hill.
