Ms Leary was pleased to receive the petition, which had 103 signatures, and take it to Parliament.
Mr Proctor created the petition after NZ Post announced plans to close nine services across the region, including the post shop facilities at Caversham Pharmacy.
The petition urged the government to work with NZ Post to stop the closure of post service counters in the South, and to ensure closure and restructuring decisions prioritised equity, accessibility, and community wellbeing.
Ms Leary said she was concerned the cuts appeared to have been made without consultation with affected communities, only the stores affected
