Two people were transported to Dunedin Hospital, one with serious injuries, after a crash involving a side-by-side off-road vehicle at the weekend.
A police spokeswoman said they received reports of the single vehicle crash in Hindon Rd, near Hindon, about 5.20pm on Saturday.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said the crash involved a side-by-side.
Crews were sent from Lookout Point and Outram.
One crew was equipped with "specialist lines rescue equipment" as a precaution but the winching capability of a rescue helicopter called to the scene was relied upon instead, the spokesman said.
A Hato Hone St John spokeswoman confirmed it responded with one helicopter and an ambulance.
Both patients were flown to hospital.

A Fenz spokesman said two fire trucks were sent to Rockdale Rd, Hawthorndale, about 11.10pm on Saturday.
The crews extinguished the fires before leaving the scene in the care of police.
No-one was with the car when fire crews arrived, the spokesman said.
