Still seeking Barclay lead

Police are still searching for information in the case of a missing Dunedin woman.

A $50,000 reward was offered by police investigating the suspected homicide of Tuitania Barclay, who disappeared 12 years ago.

The mother of three, who was also known as Tania, was last seen at her Wakari home on September 17, 2002.

Detective Matt Preece, of Dunedin, said since police went public with the reward on October 29, they had received about 20 different pieces of information.

''It includes useful background information about Tania's life but no `game-breaking' information that has resulted in a positive lead.''

Police were following a separate line of inquiry with a person who knew her, and whom police had not previously been aware of, Det Preece said.

''This work is ongoing and it's too early to say whether it will add significantly to the case or not.''

The $50,000 reward offer for information relating to the Tuitania Barclay case expires on January 1.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Matt Preece on 021 191-5028 or email matthew.preece@police.govt.nz or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555-111.
