The man accused of killing two Mosgiel siblings by driving dangerously is not allowed to drive, as a condition of his bail.

Cameron Charles Presland (20), of Milton, was also banned from contacting the other victims of the serious crash it is alleged he caused on May 18.

The prohibitions were part of strict bail conditions imposed by Judge Michael Crosbie during Presland's brief appearance in the Dunedin District Court yesterday.

The court appearance came six months to the day after Presland's illegally-modified Honda Integra crashed on the Southern Motorway.

Presland faces two charges of manslaughter following the deaths of Danielle (17) and Shannon (22) Kiriau and a further two charges of dangerous driving causing injury to the car's other occupants, teenagers Courtney Donald and Caitlin Adams.

Judge Crosbie adjourned the case until December 9.

Presland was ordered not to contact Miss Adams or Miss Donald, not to drive, not to consume alcohol and to adhere to a curfew of 11pm to 7am at a Milton address.

As Presland left the court with two associates, he turned his back to media, placed a hood over his head and walked away. He did not speak.

Presland was on a learner's licence at the time of the crash, and had swapped a van for the Integra just days before.

Shannon and Danielle Kiriau died at the scene, while Miss Donald was seriously injured.

The car had not passed a warrant of fitness since early 2012.

Based on skid-mark analysis, police estimated the car, at the time of the crash, was travelling at 180kmh.

The Integra spun several times before hitting a pole and then a tree, police said.
