A chilly start to the day did not stop eager swimmer Sharon Miller, of Dunedin, from taking the first opportunity of the season to visit the St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool yesterday.
Lifeguard Ruby Heath said about 15 people were at the pool yesterday at 6am.
She said the water was warm and the area was well protected from the wind so it was not too cold.

It will operate from 6am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays until the end of March.
The water temperature is kept at 28°C.
