Dunedin police are appealing for witnesses after a 21 year old student was set upon by three attackers early on Saturday morning.
The man was walking along Union St West, between George and Great King Sts, when he was attacked in an aggravated robbery about 3.30am, Detective Sergeant Neil Lowden said.
''He was punched about the head and face. He had his cellphone and headphones taken from him.''
He was treated and discharged from Dunedin Hospital. Police were appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
