A cyclist has been killed in a collision with a vehicle in Hamilton this afternoon.
Police said the accident happened at the intersection of Wairere Dr and River Rd at 1:55pm.
The crash comes after police released the name of Lodewyk Gerardus Johannes Janssen, 65, who was killed near Morrinsville on Monday, and said Waikato people were still not taking sufficient care on local roads.
District road policing manager, Inspector Leo Tooman, said over the past 24 hours police had attended 16 vehicle crashes across the Waikato in areas including Hamilton, Ohaupo, Taupiri, Whitianga, Tihiroa and Puketaha.
