Armed police have arrested and charged a 27-year-old after a man was shot in Feilding.
Police say they were informed by ambulance services early this morning that a person had reported receiving a gunshot wound at a property in the Manawatu town.
The victim was seriously hurt and was taken to hospital, however his injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Armed officers arrested a man in the Roslyn area of Palmerston North about midday in relation to the incident, police said.
The man had been charged with wounding with intent and was due to appear in Palmerston North District Court on Tuesday.
Police said they were not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
