A man who climbed to the top of a popular Auckland tourist attraction last night is now speaking to police after being safely bought back down.

Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Victoria and Albert streets last night after a man climbed a tower structure supporting the Sky Screamer vertical bungy.

Police said they negotiated with the man for three hours to come down, after he climbed to a height of 30 metres.

Two other people were arrested during the incident on charges of breaching the peace.

Police negotiators and firefighters were called to the scene, before the man was safely brought back down by firefighters.

The owner of the Sky Screamer, who refused to be named, said she was not allowed to access the scene because of the cordons.

She said such an incident had never happened there before.

The site was secure and had CCTV cameras.
