McIntyre new Nelson Mail editor

Paul McIntyre has been appointed editor of The Nelson Mail newspaper.

McIntyre (45), currently news and digital editor at The Press in Christchurch, will start his new job in February.

He replaces Bill Moore, who is stepping down after eight years, but will remain as a senior writer.

McIntyre has held a number of leadership roles at The Press over the past decade, including stints as night editor and acting editor.

He started his career in local papers in Surrey and London, working at The Times and the Daily Mail before emigrating to New Zealand 13 years ago.
