Whanganui police want to hear from people who helped at the scene of a crash involving a motorcycle and a ute yesterday afternoon. The rider of the motorcycle was taken to Whanganui Hospital where he later died.
Police said the crash happened about 4.20pm when a collision occurred between the black Suzuki motorcycle heading east along No 3 Line toward Okoia, and a white Mitsubishi ute turning right out of Kaimatira Rd into No 3 Line.
Whanganui police asked that several people who stopped at the crash site and helped the rider contact them, as well as any witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have seen the vehicles before the crash. The phone number is 06 349 0600.
