Napier police are investigating the "suspicious death" of a five-year-old girl.
Area commander, Inspector Kevin Kalff, said the girl was found at 1.50am today by her family at their Riverbend Road home.
Close family members were assisting police with their enquiries and police were not actively seeking anyone else in connection with her death, he said.
