Motorists using the Rakaia River bridge should expect delays after a truck broke down this morning.
Police were notified about the breakdown on State Highway 1 at 5.55am and the truck was removed from the bridge about 7.40am.
The truck was blocking the southbound lane.
The New Zealand Transport Agency advised motorists to “take extra care along this route and to expect some delays”.
