A 32-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of 1-year-old baby Terepo Taura-Griffiths.
The baby, nicknamed "Popo'', died after being taken to Middlemore Hospital in Auckland at 9.30pm on November 4.
A postmortem examination revealed he died from a fracture to the rear of his head and a massive brain bleed.
Police said the arrested woman would appear in Manukau District Court today.
They wanted to speak to anyone who had contact with Terepo or the couple who were caring for him between October 31 and November 4.
