An ultra-high-risk sex offender who has been living in a Christchurch Men’s Prison residence for more than nine years will remain in a secure facility after failing to convince the courts he can be safely managed in the community.

The son of a farmer crushed under a vehicle he was working on said his father "could have died a thousand times" in other ways, so it was a shock his life ended the way it did.
