The United Nations says a UN plane monitoring the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic has crashed with 6 to 10 military personnel on board.
UN spokeswoman Michele Montas said the Uruguayan surveillance plane, assigned to the UN peacekeeping mission in Haiti, went down Friday in rugged terrain west of Fonds-Verrettes near the border.
She said teams have been sent to the area on foot, and it was not known whether there were any survivors.
