Paul Dwyer takes us up 18 metres high for a look at the first day's offerings at the Southern Field Days at Waimumu.

The gathering has grown from 60 exhibitors 18 years ago to now boasting over 756 sites.

The event has proved a massive drawcard to the Gore and Southland area, boosting the local economy.
