Two children hit by vehicles in Christchurch

Two children have been hit by vehicles within 10 minutes of each other in Christchurch today.

The first incident happened on Selwyn St, near Hazeldean Rd about 8.20am, where a child was left with serious injuries after being hit by a car, said a police spokeswoman.

In Hornby about 10 minutes later,  another child was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Waterloo Rd and Taurima St.

A police spokeswoman said the child was taken to Christchurch Hospital with minor injuries.
