But which Otago team will try to lift the title is uncertain, after Otago A and Otago B posted good wins on Saturday to both make the semifinal, which will be played at Balmacewen one week earlier.
The two Balmacewen teams have met on two occasions during the series and Otago A won both encounters 3.5-2.5.
However, Otago B now has the services of Duncan Croudis, who has returned home for the holidays from his golf scholarship studies at Iowa University, and this may tip the balance in the B team's favour.
Croudis has posted two 6 and 5 wins since returning home and shows a vast improvement after one year of college golf.
Otago A was always in command in its match against North Otago.
The top two players posted halves, while the next four players all won comfortably.
Tyrone Ratahi and Luke Murdoch halved with Kris Rush and Gary Creedy respectively in the battle of the No 1 and No 2 players.
Ben Matheson and Thomas Gillan won with holes to spare while team captain Murray Edgar gave Paul Velenski a lesson on the greens.
Velenski had beaten Otago B's Michael Smith a week earlier but Edgar putted him off the course on Saturday, winning in 13 holes.
Otago A No 4 Aaron Charteris looked set to lose at four down with eight holes to play, but won six of the last eight holes to beat Gary Watling on the final green.
At Chisholm Park, Mark Collie at No 2 was the only Park golfer to win, beating Otago B No 2 Brandon Hodgson 5 and 4.
Gregor Croudis and Peter Rae halved the battle between the No 6 golfers while all of the other matches went Otago B's way, for a 4.5 to 1.5 win.
