After resuming on the first day of the Riverton meeting on Saturday with two rides, including a third placing on The Glitzy One in the Riverton Cup (won by Santos), he is back in earnest today with seven mounts.
Has he missed the thrill of riding in races? You bet.
''I was missing it after two weeks,'' the Malaysian-born jockey said.
''I didn't do anything at all - just sitting home and getting fat.''
''Fat'' is all relative when it comes to a jockey and besides, Muniandy did get some exercise in.
''I'd just go for a run and walk every afternoon.''
Muniandy does not know too much about his first ride today, the Murray Hamilton-trained Aboynamedsue, but is more familiar with the Brian and Shane Anderton-trained runners, being an employee at White Robe Lodge.
Gallant Satin (race 4) finished seventh behind Fiatt at Wingatui, and Muniandy hopes the draw of 2 will assist the Gallant Guru filly.
''She ran a good race last start at Wingatui. She did a bit wrong, but she should be up there and should run a good race,'' he said.
The Towkay mare Prenuptial (race 5) has plenty in her favour, including a drop back in grade from the rating 75 races to today's rating 65 assignment over 1400m.
''The last two starts [in February], she's been crook but we've treated that and she's working super at home. She really should be in the first three.''
''If she got the right run, she'd be good to go.''
A firm surface could rule out Miss Millbrook in race 9, but if the rain comes, she should come right into play in the 1400m open handicap, in which the Terry Kennedy-trained mare will carry 54kg.
''She's a smart horse, but I just don't know if the track will be too hard,'' he said.
''Hopefully there'll be a wee bit of rain, and it will take the sting out of the ground.''
El Chico has been rehandicapped 1kg to 61kg in race 9 today after his win in the open 1400m on Saturday. He was one of two winners on the card for trainer Michael Pitman. The other stable winner was the 2yr-old El Doute.
Also rehandicapped are Confused (race 7), up 2kg to 65kg for his win in a rating 75 2147m race on Saturday; and Black Berry Punch (race 10), up 2kg to 56.5kg for winning a rating 65 1200m race. The track was rated good (2) yesterday, the same as the first day.
Muniandy's rides: Aboynamedsue (race 1), Polly's Sister (race 2), Langham Lady (3), Gallant Satin (4), Prenuptial (5), Maitland Grey (7) and Miss Millbrook (9).
