QUEENSTOWN'S council's closing the hugely-popular Frankton Track for virtually all of next year to lay a new wastewater pipeline, a timeline that's being greeted with disbelief by many - one hotelier's labelling it "laughable". Council, however, is adamant the closure’s needed because the working environment for machinery and crew is too narrow to allow any public access, though an exception’s being made for next year's Queenstown Marathon.
