Arrowtown’s claimed the early title, for the first three months of this year, for being New Zealand’s most expensive postcode, where, according to Trade Me’s Property Pulse Report, the average asking price is more than $3 million. Local real estate agent, and long-time resident, Richard Newman quips the village is becoming ‘‘a suburb of Parnell’’ and fears Arrowtown’s ‘‘losing our community’’.
