Te Anau chef Cameron Davies, executive chef and co-owner of The Fat Duck, has been awarded a lifetime honour granted to only a select few chefs across the country.

In a statement, Mr Davies said being named a Platinum Beef + Lamb New Zealand Ambassador Chef was an incredible honour.

"To be recognised alongside some of the greats of our industry is very special. It’s a privilege to represent the farmers and producers behind our world-class beef and lamb, which I’m proud to showcase to the world through our plates at The Fat Duck."

He joins a distinguished group of just 10 chefs nationwide who have reached Platinum Ambassador status since the programme began almost three decades ago.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand food service manager Lisa Moloney said Mr Davies’ leadership and creativity had set a benchmark for excellence.

"Cameron has been instrumental in shining a light on New Zealand’s grass-fed beef and lamb, crafting menus that celebrate our producers and their world-class products. His commitment to telling the paddock-to-plate story through every dish embodies what the Ambassador Chef programme is all about.

"Beyond his role as an ambassador, Cameron’s leadership, mentoring, and business skills within the hospitality industry have also been widely recognised. He’s not only an exceptional chef but also an inspiring figure who contributes to the growth and professionalism of New Zealand’s culinary community," she said.
