The occupants of a house that went on fire in Mosgiel this afternoon are all accounted for after the blaze.

Crews arrived at the scene, in Titri Place, about 1.50pm, to find the property "well-involved".

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said crews from Mosgiel, Roslyn, Lookout Point, Outram, and Dunedin attended, while a St John ambulance was sent as a first response.

About an hour after their arrival, fire crews were keeping a close watch on proceedings and dampening down spots.

The Fenz spokesman said the exact cause of the fire, and the extent of the damage, was not known at this stage, but all people and pets living at the property were accounted for.
