Playcentre to show off revamp

Three years of fundraising and effort have resulted in a major revamp of the Clinton Playcentre. The hard work will be displayed at an open day on April 5.

The gathering will double as the playcentre's 40th anniversary celebrations. They are the first significant renovations at the facility since it opened in 1981.

Publicity officer Rachel Ayson said the work was a three-year effort by parents and supporters of the playcentre. The renovations took three months and finished just three days before the first day back, in late February.

The playcentre, which now boasts 23 children from 16 families, features more inside space and greater indoor-outdoor flow, Mrs Ayson said.
