The England team has had to answer some pretty tough ones during the last week or so but there was some light relief yesterday, with year 5 and year 6 pupils at Mornington Primary School asking some delightfully innocent questions.
England trio Simon Shaw, Matt Banahan and Richard Wigglesworth took time from training and other Rugby World Cup commitments to visit the school for a question-and-answer and a skills session.
How much money do you earn? Have you ever scored a try? Do you feel sad when you lose? Have you met the Queen? Did you go to the Royal wedding? Is London bigger than Dunedin?
Thankfully, no-one asked about that CCTV footage which appears to show team-mate Mike Tindall, who married the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips six weeks ago, kissing a mystery blonde.
Veteran lock Shaw, who played for Dunedin club side Pirates in 1992, showed he had a soft side to go with all the brawn and won the children over with his gross story about the time he twisted his foot 180 degrees. The disgusted faces and repulsed squeals were a sure sign the children were warming to the man-mountain.
"These guys get more than I do," he suggested when asked how much money he made.
"I can't remember the last time I scored a try.
"I dropped a goal in a league game for my club once.
Everyone remembers that but they forget that we were 30 points down at the time."
For the record, he prefers England's white jersey although black is "very slimming" and he has met the Queen "which was an honour".
He also went to the Royal wedding.
"The small one," he said. Not Will and Kate's big day but Mike and Zara's wedding.
Another group of England players ran a coaching session at Otago Boys' High School yesterday.
Among them was lock Tom Palmer, who attended the school in 1996 and 1997.
