Pupils at Maniototo Area School in Ranfurly now have reason to incorporate Central Otago District Council branding and promotional material into their learning.
The school is the first in the district to receive Central Otago brand status, which means it aligns itself with the morals and values inherent in the council's "World of Difference" brand.
Principal Peter Heron said the branding worked well with the school's revised curriculum and its inherent values.
"We were encouraged to choose values such as diversity, integrity and ecological sustainability to work in with our school motto. When our pupils won two of the three Central Otago Youth Awards handed out by the CODC recently, I decided to look at the core values developed by the district," he said.
The move meant pupils could be taught Central Otago's values as a part of next year's curriculum, he said.
