Cuisine @ Clyde will definitely be back on the town's events calendar next Labour Weekend, organisers say.

The event, organised by the Clyde on Sunday group, took place from Friday until yesterday and featured chefs such as Fleur Sullivan, Nici Wickes and Michael Coughlin, who all gave masterclasses.

The highlight events, such as the Blokes, Broads and Quisine barbecue challenge with Dai Henwood and the wine and food matching class with Nici Wickes and John Hawkesby, were sold out.

Other classes, such as preparing and cooking venison with Tony Tohill, cake-icing with Melissa White, pinot noir barrel cooking with David Harrison.

The masterclasses also attracted good numbers, Clyde on Sunday group member Andy Ritchie said.

The organising team was already planning next year's event, which probably would have a similar agenda.

''We'll learn from this one but we're really pleased with the formula.''

The barbecue challenge, in which teams of four were given mystery ingredients to make their dishes, was won by the team from the Fridge.
