Most of those arrested were between 18 and 22 years of age.
All were from Cromwell except one, who was from Wanaka.
Sergeant Mike Williams, of Cromwell, said five police officers, including two from Alexandra, were called out to a Cairnmuir Cres address from 1.30am after receiving reports of 15 people fighting and smashing bottles in the street.
Sgt Williams and another Cromwell officer first attended the scene, then called for the backup of two Alexandra officers.
They arrested two men for disorderly behaviour and took them to the Cromwell police station less than 200m away.
Police received further calls about disorder and fighting at the address and deployed a fifth officer, from Cromwell, to help.
The five officers were met by partygoers who threw at least 20 glass bottles at police, some of who received minor cuts and grazes as a result.
A rock was also thrown through the window of a police vehicle while officers were inside.
One officer received minor cuts to his head from broken window glass.
Sgt Williams said about 100 glass bottles were also smashed on Cairnmuir Cres by partygoers.
A further five men were arrested, including a tenant of the address, and charged with various offences relating to the disorder.
Sgt Williams said another man was identified when throwing bottles at police and was likely to face charges this week.
"There seems to be a group of young people in Cromwell who think they can act with impunity, but that's going to change.
There will be absolutely zero tolerance for young people and disorder," he said.
At 4.30am, police called Central Otago District Council staff to clean broken glass from the road, which had to be temporarily closed because of the hazard.
All those arrested were held at the Cromwell station until the party had finished, after which they were released on bail with strict conditions to appear in the Alexandra District Court tomorrow.
Sgt Williams said a bill from the council would be passed on to tenants of the address, and police would be speaking to the landlord about ongoing disorder at the house.
Police also served a 72-hour noise abatement notice on the occupiers of the address, and would be seeking reparation for the cost of repairing the police vehicle window.
People spoken to at the address on Saturday by the Otago Daily Times declined to comment.
Three men, all understood to be foreign nationals, were arrested for alcohol-fuelled incidents in Wanaka at the weekend.
Constable Greg Nolet said the arrests were part of an "unfortunate trend" in that the alleged offenders were all heavily intoxicated.
Two men will face a charge of fighting in a public place, while another was charged with offensive behaviour for allegedly urinating in full view of people in a cafe on Ardmore St.
The trio are scheduled to appear in the Queenstown District Court today.
