Teen allegedly pulled knife

Police in Cromwell are investigating an incident in which a 15-year-old boy allegedly threatened another teenage boy with a knife.

A young teenage boy was walking through Anderson Park on his way to the Cromwell Mall about 5pm on Monday, when he was approached by the 15-year-old, threatened, and a knife was allegedly presented, Sergeant Andy Reed said.

"Obviously it's of concern. We can't have young people walking around with knives, and even more so for them to be presenting them and threatening people."

He believed the boys were probably known to each other, as it was a small town "and they are both local lads".

Police were still investigating and it was too soon to say whether the alleged offender would face any charges, he said.
