Central Otago District Council property and facilities officer Tara Bates presented the proposed changes at this week's council meeting.
Development of the additional sites is "planned over the next few months''.
The report said a taxiway was to be build in front of four hangars on the eastern side of the airport.
But unused space near the north hangar was identified and an additional three hangars have been proposed in the revised plans, meaning an adjustment to the proposed taxiway layout.
Demand to lease private hangars at Alexandra Airport has been high and more than 30 people were on a waiting list in January.
Further development to cater for demand was to be put on hold until the Alexandra town water supply was available at the airport.
