Central Otago’s Amisfield bistro chef Vaughan Mabee was recognised in the Cuisine Good Food Awards last night, taking the spot of top chef in the country.
Five Central Otago restaurants and one Dunedin restaurant were recognised for their cuisine, receiving "hats" — the competition’s rating system.
Amisfield Bistro received three hats alongside having the top chef, placing it in the top tier of the awards.
Rata in Queenstown received two hats.
Ode Conscious Dining, Sherwood and Aosta in Central Otago received one hat.
In Dunedin, Moiety received one hat.
